Seriously! Did you know that the survival meal kits from Survival Supply are actually some of the best we have? If we looked at survival meals from other companies, we would probably have to say that they were not all that great. The quality of the meals seems a little off, but for families on a budget like us, it really is a saving, especially when you compare it to what we did have to eat on the western frontier.

In terms of taste, the survival food kits from Survival Supply really do deliver. The flavors are excellent, and you can find something to satisfy everyone. We have never had a single bite that did not leave an everlasting taste in our mouths. The best part was that it tasted good enough that we could make a batch of it and store it for emergencies. In fact, we store several different types of survival food kits in various locations in our house that we can easily access in case of an emergency situation.

If you go to any major store that sells survival food kits or go on the internet, you will notice that the standard survival food kits come in all types of different sizes, shapes, and colors. The selection of emergency food storage we had at our own home was pretty large, but we settled for Costco, Walmart, Target, and several other mid-size retailers. As a result, they all offered various different brands, sizes, and prices. We ended up spending a bit more money than what we would have spent on individual survival food kits, but in the end, we were still satisfied with the products that we bought.

All of our survival meal kits came with everything we needed inside of them: cans of soup (we like Tostadatoes or Gold Beans), jars of soups (we like tomato and carrot), bottles of water, packets of instant popcorn, salt and pepper shakers, cups of coffee, tea bags, granola bars, trail mix, a can opener, and a variety of nuts and bolts. The only thing that was lacking were: instructions for assembling the kit, an instruction manual, measuring materials, a flashlight, an emergency whistle, a cell phone with a battery, a compass, a first aid kit, and some type of fire starter. What we found out about assembling the kits that was very useful was that some companies like Walmart and Costco include things like canned food and soup whey and other nutritional supplements in their kits. In addition, these companies also include things like a can opener, coffee grounds, a spoon, a knife, and a measuring tape. All of these are important to having a survival preparedness kit.

In addition to the above, we actually included a flameless heater in one of our survival bags. This is an extremely useful item to have, as most people don’t have a way to heat their food when they are stranded with little or no power. Even if you do have a way to heat something, it might be an hour or two before your food or water can be stored in your freezer before you can begin eating.

The other thing that we found out about our amazon survival food kits is that they didn’t contain enough of the items we really needed. For example, if you want to roast a chicken or make a stew, you usually need to buy a can of beans or some type of legume. We had a hard time finding any decent long shelf life coffee in these kits.

That is the only downside we noticed. The amazon survival food kit may be a great deal, but it doesn’t include everything we really needed. However, if you are looking for a way to get emergency food supplies to you for a few days, this may be the way to go. The price is right, there is no calorie counting food products in these survival kits, it is all natural foods and you won’t have to count those calories at all. If you are in a situation where you could possibly get stranded, this is a great option to consider.
