After winning a equal against the top graded Super Smash Bros. Melee musician in the world on Sunday, Juan “Hungrybox” Debiedma popped out of his chair in exhilaration, slapped a CRT television, and kicked the chair he only knocked over.

Two days later, he tweeted a picture of his foot in a walking boot.

Hungrybox, clearly envisioning he may have smashed his foot while celebrating his win over Adam “Armada” Lindgren at Smash ‘N’ Splash 3, went to the doctor to get it checked out. Fortunately he didn’t breaking or fracture any of his bones, but he did induce some heavy tissue damage to himself and has to give the foot some remainder in a walking boot.

Not precisely the kind of trauma to get from an competitive gaming event.

Here is the moment that Hungrybox won the match and popped off 😛 TAGEND

After kicking the chair, Hungrybox grabs his paw and hop-skip up and down for a moment, visibly in pain. Luckily he stopped there and didn’t keep battering things or he could have done some serious damage to himself.

He had reason to be excited, though. Armada and him have had a bit of rivalry going since the pair developed into the undisputed top two players in competitive Melee . Armada has won almost every matchup against Hungrybox since Hungrybox’s gran finals win at Evo 2016 last July.

This time though, Hungrybox persisted and took the determined 3-2 with a dominant concert in the final game, dedicating him a ticket to the grand finals.

Hungrybox pointed up winning Smash ‘N’ Splash 3, so hopefully his trophy and prize money are enough to subdue the physical pain he’s experiencing.
