Kate Middleton chats about mental health in video for children and parents

Kate Middleton has spoken out in opening up about one’s mental wellbeing in a movie aimed at kids and parents.

Appearing at a movie for charity Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families, the Duchess of Cambridge explained in easy terms what “mental health” means.

“Mental health is how we feel and believe, things that can’t really be seen but affect us daily. And talking about them can feel hard,” she said.

The Duchess’ words behave into a short animation aimed at kids to help them find the words to talk about mental wellbeing by means of introduction. The Duchess clarified that the animation will help figure out “what to say and who to talk to when we have feelings that are too big to handle our own.”

The animation gives a simple breakdown of exactly what the expression “mental health” means, and it contains tips and advice from kids and adults on talking about thoughts, emotions and feelings.

“Sometimes it is only a very simple conversation that can make things better,” Kate added.
