Next time you see the NBA on TV, you might observe that pregame rituals seem a little different, and apparently, that’s no injury: The Italian food firm Barilla is now paying a portion of their NBA’s largest names to hold a bunch of raw pasta in their own hands as they warm up for matches.
Because THIS is how athletes are sponsored by you, aside, Beats by Dre!
In accordance with Barilla’s advertising department, NBA players have received large amounts of cash for fistfuls of pasta facing cameras throughout their pregame warmups. From the moment they step foot on the court, while they run stretch, clinic layups, and suicides until the game begins, Barilla has asked players to exhibit dry strands of hair pasta.
“Barilla is pleased to team up with some of the NBA’s best to make our new visible, and we’re thrilled that fans could now see their favorite NBA stars with Barilla pasta,” said the organization’s CEO, Claudio Colzani, in a recent meeting. “ Kyrie Irving, Due to Steph Curry, and LeBron James holding our pasta, the Barilla title is already reaching audiences that never would have understood about our wide array of products . ”
Whoa. It seems like Barilla is prepared to become the next big accessory for basketball superstars. Even after the matches are over, whole teams such as the Houston Rockets and the Miami Heat have been seen clenching fists full of fusilli from the locker room, and lengthy sheets of lasagna during interviews–so, needless to say, Barilla’s investment strategy is already paying off!
This sure seems to achieve a larger audience with companies doing everything and anything to cultivate their titles. So the next time you see a player dunk during warmups, have a look at their hand for a complete serving size of pasta that is dry–you just might find a glimpse of advertising greatness!
