Planned Parenthood docs requested from Senate by FBI, signaling possible criminal probe

The FBI recently made a petition to get access to the Senate Judiciary Committee to un-redacted remarks obtained from Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers, a signal that the feds may be preparing a criminal probe.

The petition was made to the exact same committee, whose chairman, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), known Planned Parenthood, along with other suppliers to the FBI for analysis last December, according to   The Hill. The senator said at the time that proof that shows how abortion providers had transferred body parts and tissue from aborted fetuses for research by charging figures greater than the price had been discovered by the Judiciary Committee.

“The report records the failure of the Department of Justice, across multiple administrations, to apply the law that bans the purchasing and selling of human varicose veins,” Grassley wrote last December requesting both the Justice Department and the FBI to investigate. “…It documents evidence suggesting that the entities involved in the controversy, and/or people employed by those entities, may have violated the law. ”

The call for the investigation came after a 2015 undercover investigation by activists David Daleiden, chief of the pro-life Center for Medical Progress, and Sandra Merritt, a worker of the group who both presented as fetal researchers and created undercover videos of these trying to purchase fetal tissue from Planned Parenthood.

The conversations included officials in Planned Parenthood and StemExpress, a California firm that had obtained fetal tissue and provides tissue, blood and other biological substance for clinical research.

“Following Planned Parenthood’s top doctors were captured on camera casually negotiating the sale of aborted baby hearts, lungs, livers, and brains, two Congressional investigations confirmed there were ‘systematic’ violations of federal law in Planned Parenthood’s aborted baby parts industry and issued criminal referrals to the FBI and US DOJ,” Daleiden said in a statement supplied to Fox News. “rsquo The FBI &investigation of Planned Parenthood’s taxpayer-funded abortion firm is very long overdue. Planned Parenthood’s sale of baby body parts is the human atrocity of our times and must eventually be brought to justice under the law. ”

Sources told The Hill that rsquo & Grassley;s team is working to comply with the FBI’s petition in accordance.

A investigation that is brand new could reopen the years-long discussion on if Planned Parenthood and other suppliers violated the law together with the sale of body parts.

“Even though it’s taken over two years for the FBI to show some indication of exploring Planned Parenthood’s function in the harvesting and selling of baby body parts, [we are] encouraged to observe indications of an investigation going ahead,” Catherine Glenn Foster, chief executive officer and president of Americans United for Life, said in a statement supplied to Fox News. “There is a lot of evidence showing the abortion business has skirted both federal and state laws that function as bare-minimum protection for the dignity of human life. ”
