Neil Patrick Harris Slams James Woods For ‘Classless’ Attack On Gender Creative Kid

Neil Patrick Harris had strong words for fellow actor James Woods, who criticized that a couple for letting their son to wear makeup and dresses.

On Monday, ” Woods tweeted a picture of Matt and Lori Duron using their 10-year-old son, C.J., attending Orange County Pride at Santa Ana, California. Lori Duron is the writer of 2013sRaising My Rainbow: Adventures in Raising a Fabulous, Gender Creative Son, a memoir based on her blog of the same title, where she documents her experiences increasing C.J., who explains as sex nonconforming.

The 70-year-old Woods, who has never shying away out of expressing his conservative viewpoints, blasted the Durons in his own tweet.

Woods’ tweet inspired others to condemn the Durons for letting their son to express herself . “You’re perverting that child,” one man wrote. Added another,”Occasionally you shouldn’t support everything your kid believes in. Sometimes it can be detrimental to their emotional well-being.”

On the reverse side, the others criticized Woods for his remarks. “What a hateful thing to state,” one man wrote. “What did those people ever do to you? You need to get an acting job and recall your craft. You’re great.”

However, few tweets were as pointed as Harris. On Tuesday the “How I Met Your Mother” celebrity, 44, deemed Woods “utterly ignorant and classless” for his takedown of the Durons, who are personal friends.

Fortunately for C.J. along with his family, it doesn’t look like they’ll be paying any mind to criticism from Woods or other conservatives anytime soon. In that a June 26 blog post, Duron noticed her “sweet, amazing, rainbow boy” had “never received a lot of compliments” as he had throughout the Pride festivities.

“The festival was that which C.J. hoped it could be and then some,” she composed. “He is used to getting stares and whispers when we’re out in people. He is not utilized to receiving the smiles, hugs and encouragement he obtained at Pride.”
