Karen and Kayla Seals discovered what they believed to be a puppy making sound from the neighbors yard before this week if they decided to go have a closer look.
What they found instead was an 8-month-old baby girl, stuffed with a white plastic garbage bag, and left to perish.
Her thighs were just dangling in the bag. Her head was in the bag. Her entire head was covered all the way down, Kayla Seals told reporters.
Police detained the childs mother, 17-year-old Harriette Hoyt, who was later charged with a felony of tried second-degree murder. They think the child had survived with no food or water for more than 72 hours. Its a complete miracle.
After discovering the bag in the neighbors yard, the sisters called 911 and brought the child into their home. She had been filthywearing dirty clothes, a soiled diaper, and needed a rash on portions of her body.
I mean she was barely breathing honey, her eyes werent also open, Kayla explained. So I tore the bag, that she had been in. It was just like a garbage bag, her head was in the base of the bag. And her legs were hanging out the front of the bag. And she wasnt breathing. She opened her mouth and that I dropped some water in there, and she began gasping after I did this. Her eyes werent opening, so that I cleaned her eyes and spoke to her, Come on baby! Come on baby! Come on sweetness! Then she opened right up to me.
Kayla says she considers God led her to discover the baby on Tuesday afternoon. He motivated her to look into the sound of what she thought might be an abused animal.
It was Gods stating for me to go do so, for all of us to go see what was happening. And I thank God that happened.
The baby girl is expected to make a full recovery.
One thing is for certain, theres no telling what might have happened if Kayla and Karen hadnt listened to their own instincts and obeyed what the Holy Spirit was telling them.
Praises for a great outcome to a situation that might have ended terribly different.
