Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop Health Summit Was Hilarious, Bizarre, And Utterly Full Of Sh*t

Gwyneth Paltrow took her health and beauty business and, yeah, it’s weird as it seems.

The 45-year-old actress’s lifestyle manufacturer Goop hosted its own event offering all kinds of wellness treatments and recovery.

Tickets named after spices and herbs, ginger and turmeric, sold for $ 650 to $ 2,000 a pop up. Around 600 “wellness” fanatics combined in to the 10 hours of meditation, spa treatments, tarot psychic and card readings, and anti inflammatory LED face mask treatments.

Panels of doctors discussed various topics, ranging from stress and depression . Others featured contentious experts with revolutionary ideas, such as psychiatrist Dr. Kelly Brogan who, in 2014, posted a now-deleted blog stating HIV doesn’t direct to AIDS despite decades of research  stating exactly the opposite.

Other speakers included psychic moderate Laura Lynn Jackson who apparently said “departure doesn’t exist” and nutritionist   Deanna Minich, who advised audiences to eat yellow food to “balance your fire” and green food to relieve  grief.

There was, obviously, a lot of shopping. But selling items, products or whether ideas, is built into the Goop business model. The subscription-based vitamin regime addresses “your” problems — such as why are you so tired all of the time or why your genes aren’t like they were in high school — via “health-defining vitamin and supplement regimens” that tackle the requirements of modern women for just   $90 a month.

Goop states it addresses the four thoughts and body issues that plague modern women the most.

“We feel that the small things count, that fantastic food is the basis of wellness and love, the mind/body/spirit is inextricably linked and we’ve got more control over the way we express our wellbeing than we now know,” states that the site.

It’s not the first-time Paltrow, or “GP” because her Goopies  like to phone her, has attracted attention for her questionable beauty routines. The actress was voluntarily stung by bees through an apitherapy treatment for scarring and inflammation. She says it’s an early form of therapy that has existed for thousands of years but fell from style.

Supporters of In Goop Health, Including actresses Drew Barrymore, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Chelsea Handler, state it’s approximately feminine empowerment.

But some attendees weren’t buying what Goop was promoting citing poor, and even dangerous, medical advice, reports Page Six.

“We love to shine light on matters,” said Paltrow at the occasion. &ldquoWe adore information and science, and we create information being used by a lot of our decisions, but we love the unexplained and unexplored. ”
